Sunflowers, 1887

Vincent van Gogh lived in Antwerp for three months from November 1885. He attended an academy in Antwerp because he had models there free of charge and found heated rooms. In order to save money, he ate poorly, which led to physical problems. Vincent van Gogh began collecting Japanese woodblock prints in Antwerp, which had a significant influence on his later works.
